Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston Texas in her dance studio run by her mother. As a young girl of 2, she was the first to appear in a television show as a young child in The Don Mahoney Children's Trooper program. She was 13 when, having ten years of vocal and dancing training in her past, she and her mother traveled on a journey to L.A. for a year to determine if she would make it in the show business. She got her first job as a professional dancing instructor in just two months: Danny Kaye's show The Danny Kaye Show. "I've used my dance and singing training in many different ways," she says. It's an excellent discipline for actors." The first time she acted was in My Three Sons. This was later followed with Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole has appeared in more than forty television shows. Despite her fame for her work in TV and films, O'Toole's passion is theater. Following her time in Smallville She decided to concentrate on theatre, something she had been doing over the last decade. She was in New York and her first audition was the reason she was part of The Sea Gull. She's been in numerous off-Broadway musicals, like Adam Rapp's Kindness, and Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska.
